Additional Information / Boat Review:

Engine Manufacturer, Model, and Horsepower Rating:

Yamaha 115 Salt Water Series 2 cycle, 1998 model, with a SS prop. The original engine was a 90 hp Johnson, which ran well but had very poor resistance to salt water. Not much stainless on it.
What do you like and dislike about the engine(s)?

The engine is excellent. Other than pm, I have had no need to repair since I bought it. At 356 lbs, it is a tad heavy on the stern. Planes quickly, averages 3-4 mpg at 3500-4000 rpm, which is around 27-30 mph in a calm sea.
What type trailer do you have and what do you like and dislike about it?

I have a single axle Magic trail that I bought several years ago to replace the original roller style Magic Tilt that came with the Boat/Motor/Trailer package. The replacement trailer is the big bunk style, which is wonderfully easy to drive on. I'm not crazy about the overall quality of the trailer but it works so far.
Is this boat trailerable and if so what type vehicle, at minimum, would you recommend to adequately pull this rig?

My guess is that boat, motor, and trailer weighs about 2000 lbs, so a truck or SUV with a six and at least 3500 lbs capacity will tow it fine. I have pulled it with a four cyl pickup, a four cyl minivan, a six cyl minivan, and currently a 6 cyl SUV. It tows well.
How much fuel does the boat hold and what is its approximate range?

27 gallons, and it gets from 3-4 mph, depending on conditions.
Describe the ride and handling in moderate chop and in rough water:

This is a modified-V, 12 degree deadrise, small boat. It rides nicely in a light chop, but you must slow down in anything bigger than 2 foot. I can go in bigger stuff if I have to in order to get home, but I won't go out if it is rough. It floats in about 15" of water, and does very well in a following sea, due to the high bow flare. It is moderately dry riding, but the high bow gives it too much profile to pole easily.
If applicable, what type of fishing would you say this rig is best suited for and why?

All around inshore and bay fishing, close in offshore on a good day. I have had it 20 miles offshore many times on a flat day, but I am VERY careful about that.
Describe the layout of the boat including storage, live wells, lockers and so on:

Small box anchor locker, which is really too little to be of much use. I do store a spare (small) anchore there for inshore. The forward casting platform is divided into three (mostly) dry compartments, with the largest one in the center having an overboard drain. I use that one for a fish box, although it does not have insulation. Two smaller dry compartments flank the center one. I store buoys and lines in those. There is a classic center console with a jump seat and storage in front of the console, which I use for storage. Behind the center console is a flipflop 94 qt cooler seat, which I use for storage. Along the gunwales on each side there is a two rod rack, which can be used for smaller rods. I have three rod racks on each side of the console, and the radio, GPS, and LORAN antennas are mounted on the center console.
How has the rig held up over time?

This is one of the better older Aquasports, made in Hialeah, before the owners sold out to the current manufacturers. It has held up very well, although I had to replace the gas tank this year. There are many surface dings, scratches, etc, but overall I like it fine. Never is big enough, but it can be handled by one person and doesn't cost much to run. It also is paid for.
What are some things that you find exceptional about this boat?

Has lasted well and is generally well constructed.
What are some things you do not like about this boat?

Had to add a live well and when it is full it is stern heavy. The cut out transom is prone to taking waves, and it can get you in trouble if you let the stern fall off into the wind.
Do you know of another manufacturer that makes this same boat under a different name?

Similar boat is made by Aquasport today as the 175, but the mold is slightly different.
Would you buy this boat again or recommend it to a friend?

Yes, it does well for what it is. A small, well rounded near shore, bay, and sometimes offshore boat.
What would you say this boat is worth in its current condition?

Umm. Maybe $8-10,000, because the motor and trailer are pretty new.
What other boat would you have bought for roughly the same money if you had it to do over again and why?

Either this boat or a 171 Mako were my choices. I think my boat rides better in a chop than the 171.
Add any other details or comments you think people should know about this boat if they are considering buying one like it:

The newer Aquasports are O.K., but I don't think the construction quality is as good as the older ones like mine.
