Additional Information / Boat Review:

Engine Manufacturer, Model, and Horsepower Rating:

Mercury Black Max 175, Merc 200 heads, horizontal carbs, Boyesen two stage reeds, Bob's exhaust tuner....putting out about 215 hp at 6700rpms
What do you like and dislike about the engine(s)?

Pushes this little rig faster than I would ever want to go, but absolutely sucks the gas....fast!
What type trailer do you have and what do you like and dislike about it?

BassHawk factory trailer, with brakes. The trailer works well.
Is this boat trailerable and if so what type vehicle, at minimum, would you recommend to adequately pull this rig?

Pull it with a V6 Explorer no problem
How much fuel does the boat hold and what is its approximate range?

40 gallons, couldn't even guess at the range, but I know it's not that much!
Describe the ride and handling in moderate chop and in rough water:

The boat is one of the smoothest rigs I have ever ridden in for rough water, get the bow up and get up on top of two footers and you hit nothing but the high spots! Once you pass 65 mph, the boat gets extremely squirrely, and chine walk is terrible. With the motor up another half inch the boat will run 73mph but is almost impossible to drive,,,,at least for me.
If applicable, what type of fishing would you say this rig is best suited for and why?

Bass
Describe the layout of the boat including storage, live wells, lockers and so on:

Single console, with single rod locker which is huge, front and rear livewells, tons of dry storage and ample deck space for two off the front with one of the largest rear decks anywhere on an 18.5 footer.
How has the rig held up over time?

This particular boat has a solid glass transom from the factory as it was custom built for racing, so needless to say the transom is solid as a rock. minor gel coat cracking and the metal flake is fading from years in the sun, everything else on the boat has held up well and is in good shape.
What are some things that you find exceptional about this boat?

Rough water ride is exceptional, fairly fast hull, very roomy and well laid out for a 18.5 footer, all storage is "dry" storage with a lip around the deck coupling, something found on the super high end rigs. Fishes space wise, like a 20 footer.
What are some things you do not like about this boat?

Not the best looking styling for boats in this year range, very hard to drive at high speeds, sits extremely low in the back and takes water over the transom pretty bad unless you set her down just right in a quick stop@!
Do you know of another manufacturer that makes this same boat under a different name?

NO
Would you buy this boat again or recommend it to a friend?

I would recommend the boat if the transom checked out, BassHawk went out of business after building some boats with bum wood in the transom and it killed their business. I would check the transom on all Hawks to make sure.
What would you say this boat is worth in its current condition?

$6,500 with the motor I have. $5,000 or lower in average condition with stock 150 Merc.
What other boat would you have bought for roughly the same money if you had it to do over again and why?

I would have looked hard for a Ranger in these year ranges, but I'd be hard pressed to find one for the deal I got on the Hawk.
Add any other details or comments you think people should know about this boat if they are considering buying one like it:

None
